It has been more than 13 years since I lost my 19-year-old son. Today, as I looked at the keepsake urn on my mantle, I remembered my experience with the crematorium, and I decided I should review it in Yelp.
It was a time of great trauma for me, and now, so many years later, I don’t recall the name of the man who served me at Pacific Mortuary. But I do remember that he was very kind, sensitive, and helpful at that terrible time in my life. Everything was done according to my preferences. I was able to have a showing for close family and friends in Pacific’s chapel, with my son laid out naturally in a simple shroud without make-up or embalming. I got to spend time alone with my son’s body before opening the viewing up to extended family and friends. I bought lovely keepsake urns for myself and a few others. The rest of the ashes were provided to me in a nice box.
Everything was gently explained to me in advance, including all my options to choose from. It was such a sad time in my life, but the staff at Pacific Interment Mortuary & Crematorium were extremely sensitive, kind, accommodating, and helpful, making that part of the experience as smooth as possible.
